New Delhi, Dec 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, met with the national president of the BJP and Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda on Wednesday in New Delhi, extending an invitation for him to inaugurate the foundation stones of four new medical colleges in the state.
Accompanied by Shankar Lalvani, the Indore Lok Sabha MP, Yadav engaged with Nadda at the Parliament late in the evening.
In a conversation with IANS, the Chief Minister disclosed that these colleges will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in the districts of Panna, Katni, Dhar, and Betul.
“I have formally invited Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda to lay the foundation stones for these four medical colleges. He has graciously accepted our invitation and is scheduled to visit Madhya Pradesh in the last week of December,” stated the Chief Minister.
The state government has designated 25 acres of land for each college at a minimal price of Rs 1.
Previously, in April, the government revealed the land allotment policy for investors and received cabinet approval.
Modifications were also made to ease the transfer of district hospitals to the medical colleges developed under the PPP model.
This meeting took place a day after Yadav conducted special review sessions for five departments, including Public Health and Family Welfare.
The Health Department, overseen by Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, has come under scrutiny due to incidents such as the Coldrif cough syrup tragedy in Chhindwara and rat-biting cases reported at Indore’s M. Y. Hospital.
