Mumbai, April 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, officially declared on Monday that the state will actively pursue the creation of a music institute inspired by the vision of the renowned vocalist, the late Asha Bhosle.

This announcement was made during a State Cabinet meeting, where officials convened to respectfully honor the legendary playback singer. Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar and other cabinet members were present at the gathering.

Fadnavis noted that Asha Bhosle had previously proposed the establishment of a dedicated institution for music. He affirmed, “The government is dedicated to advancing this proposal. We will undertake all necessary actions to ensure that the institute, as envisioned by Asha Tai, is realized,” he emphasized.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal delivered an official condolence message, paying tribute to Asha Bhosle's extraordinary life and her significant impact on the arts and culture.

The cabinet observed a moment of silence to commemorate her legacy, acknowledging her status as a pivotal figure in India's musical landscape.

Earlier, upon Asha Bhosle's passing, CM Fadnavis remarked that the “beautiful garden of melodies has been left desolate today.”

In his tribute, he expressed, “Asha Tai’s voice embodied the essence of music. She was like an everlasting spring in song, a boundless ocean of musical feelings. Whether it was soulful melodies like ‘Tora Man Darpan Kehlaye’ or vibrant tracks like ‘Khallas,’ she effortlessly captured every emotion. Her influence spanned various genres, from Bhakti Geeta to Pop, leaving a profound impact on each.”

The Chief Minister further emphasized her remarkable career, noting that she recorded over 12,000 songs in 20 different Indian languages, including Marathi, Hindi, and Bengali, as well as in various foreign languages. He praised her as a rare and versatile artist who embraced transformation effortlessly, earning prestigious accolades like the ‘Maharashtra Bhushan’ and the ‘Bangla Bibhushan.’

Recalling a personal encounter, the Chief Minister shared, “We were together not long ago for a World Radio Day event. She playfully urged me to sing ‘Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar...’ and quipped, ‘Look, I made the Chief Minister sing.’ It’s hard to fathom that we will no longer have her with us.”

“I extend my heartfelt tributes to her. We share in the grief felt by her family and the multitude of fans across the nation,” the Chief Minister concluded.
