New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Saturday officially opened the Central Research Laboratory at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, representing a significant achievement in the institute's path toward excellence and advancement.
On this occasion, he also laid the foundation for a new multi-utility (gastronomy) Block.
A statement from the Health Ministry revealed that the Central Research Laboratory is a groundbreaking initiative designed to enhance pioneering medical research and promote innovation.
This facility is set to empower doctors, researchers, and scholars to devise transformative healthcare solutions, positioning AIIMS Bhubaneswar among the top medical research centers in the nation.
The multi-utility (gastronomy) Block will serve as a state-of-the-art infrastructure project, tailored to cater to the diverse needs of students, faculty, staff, and the community. It will provide crucial amenities all in one place, boosting operational efficiency and fostering community involvement within the campus.
In line with the digital evolution of healthcare services, the Union Minister unveiled the redesigned AIIMS Bhubaneswar website, which features user-friendly tools and integrated services for patients and visitors. The site highlights Odisha's rich cultural heritage while facilitating improved access to the institute's healthcare offerings.
During the visit, Nadda also inaugurated the EHS Clinic and AMRIT Pharmacy, which will enhance access to vital health services and affordable medications for everyone. He mentioned that a skin bank would soon be established at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
A significant moment was Nadda's tour of the Burn Centre, a unique facility in Eastern India that is already making strides in critical care.
He also explored the Swachhata Exhibition at the OPD foyer, the Integrated Health and Wellness Clinic, the Rheumatology and Geriatric Clinic, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and planted a sapling at Smruti Upavan, symbolizing a commitment to a greener and healthier future.
