Patna, Sep 13 (NationPress) Contractual workers involved in a special land survey staged a protest outside the state party office in Patna on Saturday, coinciding with BJP President J.P. Nadda's visit. The demonstration was so disruptive that Mr. Nadda's planned meeting with party officials was relocated to the Circuit House.
Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, arrived at the protest site to engage with the demonstrators. He promised that their issues would be presented to the Departmental Minister.
This protest followed a similar gathering on Thursday, which ended in a police cane charge, resulting in injuries to several workers. Subsequently, many of these workers faced termination from their positions.
In a positive turn, the Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Department announced that dismissed workers can now appeal their terminations. They can submit their appeals either in person during office hours or via email.
Officials reported that over 100 appeals have already been filed, and they are working to notify affected employees, including Special Survey Amin, Kanungo, Assistant Settlement Officers, and clerical staff. This decision is anticipated to offer significant relief to those removed during the protests.
BJP President Nadda had come to Patna to assess the party's preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Earlier that day, he visited Chhapra, where he met with BJP workers before returning to Patna.
Upon his arrival in Patna, Nadda proceeded to the Circuit House, where an important meeting with senior party leaders is currently taking place. Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, and State BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Bhikhubhai Dalsaniya are among those present.
During this meeting, the BJP President is anticipated to provide the 'Guru Mantra' to party leaders and workers, outlining the BJP's election strategy and roadmap for the critical Bihar Assembly polls.
