Kohima, March 13 (NationPress) The newly appointed Governor of Nagaland, Nand Kishore Yadav, stated on Friday that the Northeastern region has experienced a significant surge in attention and investments recently, especially concerning connectivity, infrastructure, and economic development.

In his address after taking office as the 23rd Governor of Nagaland, Yadav emphasized that the government's various initiatives are not only creating new opportunities but are also enhancing the region's integration into the national growth narrative, all while respecting its distinct identity and traditions.

He remarked that Nagaland is making consistent strides across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, education, agriculture, tourism, digital connectivity, and entrepreneurship.

“These advancements are paving the way for economic growth and elevating the living standards of the populace,” declared the Governor.

Yadav commended the youth of Nagaland for their accomplishments in various domains, including education, sports, arts, entrepreneurship, and public service.

“I am particularly inspired by the vigor and talent exhibited by Nagaland's youth. Their successes are a testament to the creativity, resolve, and potential of our younger generation,” he remarked.

The Governor underscored that fostering meaningful opportunities for educated youth is a vital priority.

He pointed out that it is heartening to observe many young individuals venturing into entrepreneurship, agriculture-based businesses, tourism, and the digital economy.

“With the right skill sets, innovation, and institutional backing, these sectors can provide jobs and empower our youth to become opportunity creators,” he added.

Yadav highlighted the significance of stability, stating that the people's aspirations for enduring peace, stability, and development are of utmost importance.

“Peace and unity lay the groundwork for sustainable advancement, and with collective effort and mutual respect, Nagaland will continue to progress towards prosperity,” he asserted.

In discussing national progress, the Governor mentioned that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India has achieved remarkable advancements in economic growth, modern infrastructure, scientific and technological innovations, social empowerment, and sporting excellence.

“These accomplishments have bolstered India's position on the global stage and strengthened its rise as a burgeoning global power,” he added.

Yadav also reiterated his commitment to collaborating with the people of Nagaland to enhance peace, promote development, and safeguard the state's rich cultural heritage.

Earlier that day, veteran politician and former Bihar Minister Nand Kishore Yadav took the oath of office as the 23rd Governor of Nagaland.

The oath was administered by Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar during a modest ceremony at Lok Bhavan in Kohima. Notable attendees included Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Ministers Yanthungo Patton and T.R. Zeliang, state Cabinet members, and senior civil, security, and military officials, with the ceremony overseen by Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen.
