Earlier that day, veteran politician and former Bihar Minister Nand Kishore Yadav took the oath of office as the 23rd Governor of Nagaland.
The oath was administered by Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar during a modest ceremony at Lok Bhavan in Kohima. Notable attendees included Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Ministers Yanthungo Patton and T.R. Zeliang, state Cabinet members, and senior civil, security, and military officials, with the ceremony overseen by Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen.
