An official from Lok Bhavan in Kohima noted that Yadav also engaged in discussions with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, sharing insights on significant matters.
This marked Yadav’s initial courtesy visits to these high-profile officials since he took office as the Governor of Nagaland.
“During these discussions, the Governor expressed his appreciation and reaffirmed his dedication to the advancement, harmony, and development of Nagaland,” the Lok Bhavan official stated.
Having taken his oath as the 23rd Governor of Nagaland on March 13, Yadav has been proactively touring various regions of the hilly state and connecting with diverse communities.
In an earlier address to the people of Nagaland, the new Governor underscored that the Northeastern region has recently gained renewed attention and investment, particularly in areas like connectivity, infrastructure, and economic growth.
He stressed that numerous government initiatives are broadening opportunities and aligning the region more closely with the national development path, all while honoring its unique culture and traditions.
Yadav remarked that Nagaland has been steadily advancing across various sectors, including infrastructure, education, agriculture, tourism, digital connectivity, and entrepreneurship.
“These advancements are opening new avenues for economic development and enhancing the living standards of the populace,” he stated.
The Governor also praised the youth of Nagaland for their achievements in education, sports, arts, entrepreneurship, and public service.
“I am particularly inspired by the vitality and talent among the youth of Nagaland. Their accomplishments reflect the creativity, resolve, and potential of the younger generation,” he added.
At the age of seventy-three, Yadav commenced his public journey with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1969 and subsequently became active in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in 1971.
He served as the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Bihar unit from 1998 to 2003 and held several important positions within the Bihar government.
In February 2024, Yadav was elected as the 17th Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. As a senior BJP figure from Bihar, his appointment as Nagaland's Governor is widely regarded as a recognition of his extensive political journey.
A former minister in Bihar, Yadav has been elected seven times as an MLA representing the Patna Sahib constituency, previously known as the Patna Paschim Assembly seat, under the BJP banner.
