Amaravati, July 28 (NationPress) - During his second day in Singapore, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology, Dr Tan See Leng. The two leaders explored potential partnerships in sectors like green energy, data centres, logistics, and housing.
In their discussions, the Chief Minister showcased Andhra Pradesh’s key initiatives in green energy and sought enhanced collaboration from Singaporean businesses on projects involving green hydrogen, transmission corridors, and port development.
As per the Chief Minister’s Office, Naidu emphasized the importance of Singapore’s role in the establishment of data centres and elaborated on the rapid growth of the state’s port infrastructure.
Acknowledging Singapore’s expertise in logistics, he requested support in applying best practices in ports and logistics within Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, he stressed the significance of Singapore’s engagement in human resources, science and technology, and trade collaboration.
Addressing past concerns faced by Singaporean companies during the previous administration, the Chief Minister assured Minister Tan that efforts are underway to address these issues and that his visit is a testament to transparency and improvement. He highlighted that his administration is investment-friendly and values its relationship with Singapore.
Reflecting on previous initiatives, CM Naidu mentioned the establishment of Singapore Township in Hyderabad during his earlier term as a representation of admiration for Singapore’s planning and efficiency. He also recalled how Hyderabad adopted nighttime street-cleaning practices inspired by Singapore.
To strengthen the partnership, the Chief Minister formally invited Minister Tan to the upcoming Global Investors Summit set for November in Visakhapatnam.
In response, Minister Tan expressed Singapore’s interest in collaborating with Andhra Pradesh in housing and subsea cable projects. He indicated that both parties could collaboratively explore initiatives in these domains. The Minister also mentioned ongoing partnerships with the World Bank on programs related to green energy and housing.
Reflecting on his past visit to Hyderabad and his earlier discussions with CM Naidu, Minister Tan expressed optimism about enhancing bilateral cooperation.
