Nashik, Nov 13 (NationPress) On Thursday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis initiated the foundation stone for significant development projects valued at Rs 5,657.89 crore in the city of Nashik.

He pledged that the initiatives related to the Simhastha Kumbh Mela will be executed with utmost quality and transparency, transforming Nashik into a stunning and modern city.

Fadnavis projected that the influx of devotees during the Kumbh Mela could be five times greater than the previous event.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that projects exceeding Rs 20,000 crores are being initiated in Nashik through both Central and State Governments.

"This amount is expected to escalate to Rs 25,000 crores before the Kumbh Mela, facilitating extensive infrastructure development," he stated.

He emphasized the importance of enhancing roads, highways, drinking water schemes, preserving the sanctity of the Godavari for the Kumbh Mela, upgrading ghats, restoring ancient temples, and maintaining the traditional appearance of Godaghat during the development process.

Additionally, the Chief Minister revealed plans for an outer circular route to efficiently manage the influx of devotees during the Kumbh Mela, which will also benefit Nashik in the long run.

"We are focusing on creating a modern Nashik through a new terminal at Nashik Airport, improved railway and bus station facilities, and a sophisticated CCTV system," he added.

He mentioned that 1,200 acres of land are being acquired for the Kumbh event.

Fadnavis assured that all Kumbh Mela-related projects will be conducted transparently.

"The guidance of saints is essential for the success of the Kumbh Mela," he remarked.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that the Simhastha Kumbh Mela is set to transform Nashik's landscape, leading to organized development within the city.

"This event will establish Nashik's identity on the global stage. The Kumbh Parv is an opportunity to enhance Nashik into a beautiful and modern city," he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated the government's commitment to providing quality amenities for the event.

"With the anticipated large number of devotees, the government and administration bear a significant responsibility for security, and preparations are underway, including the use of artificial intelligence for safety measures," he stated.

He further referred to the Godavari as the South Ganga, noting that the Ganga of development is flowing into Nashik city with the inauguration of these projects.

Kumbh Minister Girish Mahajan mentioned that the government received recognition in the US for the previous Kumbh Mela.

"This time, we expect a greater number of devotees compared to last year. Given the space constraints in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar relative to Prayagraj, swift actions are being taken to ensure the upcoming Kumbh Mela is safe," he elaborated.
