Chennai, March 11 (NationPress) - Union Minister Piyush Goyal declared on Wednesday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to reinstate the governance model reminiscent of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in Tamil Nadu, while sharply critiquing the administration led by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.
During a press briefing in Tiruchirappalli, Goyal, who is also the BJP's election in-charge for Tamil Nadu, stated that the citizens of the state are yearning for transformative change and improved governance.
He noted that the public has become disenchanted with what he termed the "corruption-laden" regime of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
He charged that the government under Stalin has not effectively tackled critical governance challenges and accused it of fostering divisive politics.
Goyal also took aim at Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, asserting that his leadership lacks broad acceptance, even among the DMK ranks.
"The people of Tamil Nadu desire the National Democratic Alliance under the national leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state leadership of Edappadi K. Palaniswami," the Union Minister remarked.
He expressed strong confidence that the NDA will emerge victorious in Tamil Nadu under Palaniswami's guidance.
Furthermore, he claimed that citizens are increasingly dissatisfied with what he described as the current administration's "anti-Tamil attitudes" and leadership.
According to him, voters are progressively leaning towards the NDA as a credible alternative capable of delivering stable and development-focused governance.
Highlighting the Union government's initiatives, Goyal affirmed that Prime Minister Modi holds great esteem for Tamil culture and heritage.
He stressed that the Prime Minister is committed to making Tamil Nadu one of the top-performing states in India through development initiatives and enhanced Centre-State collaboration.
Goyal also noted that the NDA government, if elected, will address issues such as irregularities in the TASMAC liquor retail system, illegal sand mining, and law and order concerns.
Referring to former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa as "Amma", he asserted that the alliance would bring back the governance style associated with her leadership.
"When voters go to the polls, all aspirations of the DMK will crumble," he asserted, voicing confidence that the electorate will support the NDA in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
