Chennai, Jan 17 (NationPress) A.N.S. Prasad, the spokesperson for the Tamil Nadu BJP, asserted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is moving towards a pivotal triumph in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, fueled by what he termed as the increasing national faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Prasad emphasized that the recent electoral victories of the BJP and its partners across various states signify a robust endorsement of the Modi administration's governance approach, which prioritizes development, transparency, and decisive leadership.
He claimed that this political momentum is now echoing strongly within Tamil Nadu.
"The sentiment among the populace is shifting. Voters are becoming more aware, assertive, and committed to repudiating corruption and mismanagement," Prasad stated, accusing the current Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government of not meeting public expectations.
As per his observations, issues like corruption, administrative decline, and policies viewed as unfavorable to the public have estranged numerous segments of society.
Prasad pointed out the NDA's significant rally set for January 23 in Madurantakam, located in the Chengalpattu district, as a pivotal event in the coalition's campaign.
During this gathering, Prime Minister Modi is anticipated to address attendees alongside prominent NDA leaders, including AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, highlighting a cohesive alliance between the BJP and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
Prasad noted that the choice of Madurantakam holds symbolic importance. This area is the site of the ancient Eri Katha Ramar Temple, linked to the legend of Lord Rama safeguarding the region from floods by protecting its essential water source.
"Just as Lord Rama safeguarded the people and their resources, the NDA is dedicated to preserving the welfare, culture, and future of Tamil Nadu," he remarked.
He also referenced the historic Uthiramerur inscriptions from the Chola dynasty, which chronicle sophisticated systems of local self-governance via the kudavolai method. He highlighted that Prime Minister Modi has frequently cited these inscriptions in Parliament and during 'Mann Ki Baat' to illustrate India's rich democratic heritage.
Wrapping up his statements, Prasad projected that the 2026 elections would signify a crucial turning point for Tamil Nadu.
"From Madurantakam, a definitive message will resonate—an end to the era of misgovernance, ushering in a new chapter characterized by accountable, culturally anchored, and development-focused governance under the NDA," he concluded.
