Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, Jan 22 (NationPress) AIADMK's general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) stated on Thursday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is progressively evolving into a robust and unified coalition that can deliver stable governance and promote rapid growth in Tamil Nadu.
After a meeting with Union Minister Piyush Goyal at his residence in Chennai, EPS informed reporters that their discussions revolved around the significant public rally that is set to occur in Madurantakam, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He remarked, "Today's meeting was centered on the preparations and importance of tomorrow's grand public event. The Madurantakam rally is poised to instigate a significant political transformation in Tamil Nadu and define future trajectories."
This meeting has gained political importance as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensifies its efforts to finalize the NDA's framework in Tamil Nadu ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, especially following the formal inclusion of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) into the NDA.
Previously, when the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) joined the alliance, the announcement was made jointly by EPS and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss.
However, the AMMK's induction occurred this time in the presence of Piyush Goyal, without AIADMK representatives on stage, sparking extensive political dialogue.
EPS launched a pointed critique of the DMK government, claiming that law and order in Tamil Nadu has completely deteriorated.
He accused the administration of failure across various sectors and alleged that corruption has reached nearly Rs 4.5 lakh crore.
"The public is enduring hardships due to mismanagement and is in search of a credible alternative," he stated.
Expressing optimism about the NDA's future, EPS asserted that a dual-engine government would facilitate rapid development.
"With Prime Minister Modi steering the central government and an AIADMK administration in the State, Tamil Nadu is set to experience unprecedented growth following this election," he emphasized.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal praised EPS as a "long-time ally" and mentioned he relayed greetings from Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
He also called for the immediate dismissal of Udhayanidhi Stalin from his governmental roles, alleging that his statements have disrupted social harmony.
The Madurantakam rally is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in the NDA's renewed efforts to solidify its political influence in Tamil Nadu.
