New Delhi, Sep 19 (NationPress) The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has achieved a remarkable feat by establishing a world record with a 10-km-long live canvas painting, created by over 35,000 artists, to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, as reported by an official.
This grand artistic display, themed ‘Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang’ under the Sewa Parv initiative, was organized by the NDMC in partnership with Triveni Kala Sangam and Delhi University at the Kartavya Path lawns.
During the event, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju commended the passion exhibited by the artists and students as they illustrated their visions of a “Developed India.”
He lauded the NDMC for hosting this unique art festival aimed at youth as part of the two-week-long celebrations that commenced on September 17.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat described the event as a historic moment for creative expression, where thousands of young talents came together to create a 10-kilometer canvas.
Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw remarked that “Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang” is not confined to Delhi alone; it is celebrated nationwide — in every state, every district, and every village.
He emphasized that the participation of over 35,000 artists from across India symbolizes unity and serves as a historic tribute to make the PM’s birthday truly unforgettable.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta noted that this is the first instance of such an event in the national capital, where thousands of distinguished artists and students from various Indian states collaborated to paint on a 10-kilometer canvas.
“Today, the capital showcases the thoughts and dreams of the youth, expressed through diverse colors, representing a remarkable confluence of creativity,” she stated.
Prominent participants included acclaimed Padma Awardee artists such as Jatin Das (Delhi), Biman B. Bas (Delhi), Adwaita Gadanayak (Odisha), Jai Prakash (Delhi), Ram Kishan Chhipa (Rajasthan), Shanti Devi (Bihar), Paresh Rathwa (Gujarat), Kalyan Joshi (Rajasthan), Nirmal Soni, Lokesh Joshi, Ayush Chhipawal, and Lavish Joshi.
