New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) The NDMC's initiative titled 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, made its way to Gole Market on Sunday, led by Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal, who participated alongside local residents in a tree-planting effort.
Chahal took charge of the plantation efforts at the Government Employees RWA (Blocks 18 to 42, Sector-2), Gole Market, stating, “This is more than just a campaign; it’s an emotional and social pledge that encourages people to pay homage to their mothers while taking on their responsibilities towards our environment.”
The NDMC Vice Chairman noted that this initiative is cultivating environmental consciousness, a sense of accountability, and a commitment to establishing a greener heritage for the upcoming generations.
He elaborated that the NDMC has developed a dedicated “Sunday Green Calendar” for the year, under which tree-planting events are set to occur every Sunday in various locations.
Chahal emphasized that the NDMC's Horticulture, Health, Civil, and Sanitation departments are collaborating effectively to ensure scientific planting, adequate maintenance, and the long-term viability of the saplings.
He highlighted that the NDMC's green initiatives align with PM Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat @2047', which emphasizes a clean environment, sustainable urban growth, and active public engagement.
Through efforts like #EkPedMaaKeNaam_OnSunday, the NDMC is not only enhancing green spaces but also reinforcing a collective sense of environmental duty among the community.
Representatives from the RWA, including Amit Kumar (President), Sudesh Kingra (Vice President), Sarita, Amit Kumar Sinha, Om Singh (Convenor), Bidya Yadav, and Rameshwar Prasad, along with numerous local residents, were actively involved in the plantation campaign.
During discussions, RWA representatives brought up several maintenance issues in the area with the NDMC, and Chahal instructed officials to ensure timely resolutions.
He expressed optimism that with ongoing public involvement, the NDMC can further enhance its initiatives to create a cleaner, greener, and more environmentally sustainable area.
