Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Aug 3 (NationPress) The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is poised to conduct the NEET PG 2025 examination today.
This examination is a crucial pathway for securing admission into postgraduate medical programs in India and will occur in a single shift from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The computer-based test will be administered at various centres across the country, adhering to strict examination protocols.
Candidates are permitted to enter the examination centres from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.. No entry will be allowed after the gates close. Access to the login system will be granted at 8:45 a.m., and candidates must remain seated in their assigned exam halls for the entire duration of the exam.
The NEET PG acts as the national eligibility-cum-ranking examination for admissions to numerous postgraduate medical courses, such as Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Postgraduate Diploma programmes, post-MBBS DNB, six-year DrNB courses, and NBEMS diploma programmes.
More than 200,000 candidates are anticipated to participate in this highly competitive examination this year.
According to the directives issued by the NBEMS, candidates must present a printed copy of the NEET PG 2025 admit card that includes a barcode or QR code.
Additionally, a photocopy of the permanent or provisional registration from the Medical Council of India (MCI), State Medical Council (SMC), or National Medical Commission (NMC) must be brought to the exam venue, where it will be collected by the authorities.
A valid and original photo identification proof is also necessary. Accepted documents include PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, or Aadhaar Card with a photograph.
If a candidate presents an e-Aadhaar, it must be a high-quality colour printout featuring a clear and identifiable photograph that matches their appearance. Candidates qualifying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must also carry a valid certificate issued by an authorized entity.
Initially set for June 15, 2025, NEET PG was delayed by over seven weeks after the NBE sought the Supreme Court's permission for additional time.
On June 3, the NBE officially requested a date extension, citing operational difficulties that included increasing the number of test centres and improving security measures. The Court recognized these issues and ultimately consented to the new date of August 3.
