Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, April 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, declared on Monday that the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Adilabad Airport is set for June 2, coinciding with Telangana Formation Day.
Previously challenged by inadequate transportation, the Adilabad district is poised to gain air travel access. The state government conducted multiple discussions with the central authorities and successfully obtained approval for the airport, as stated by the Chief Minister.
While addressing a gathering in Pipri, Adilabad district, after inaugurating various development initiatives, CM Revanth Reddy shared his vision for transforming Adilabad, a primarily tribal area, into a center for industry, education, and tourism.
Efforts are currently underway to acquire land swiftly for a new university in Adilabad, with plans for the foundation stone to be laid soon.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that Rs 225 crore has been allocated for the enhancement of the Basara Gnana Saraswati Temple, and he assured that further funding would be made available if required.
He committed to visiting the district every two months to allocate necessary funds.
Moreover, he reiterated the government’s intention to revitalize the Pranahita Chevella project at Tummidihatti and expedite its implementation.
He emphasized the completion of all pending irrigation projects, asserting, “We will recommence the Pranahita-Chevella project at Thummidihatti. It is my duty to ensure irrigation water reaches Adilabad, transforming this area into a verdant and fertile landscape.”
In response to allegations from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regarding market yard development, CM Revanth Reddy challenged the prior government for its lack of action.
“The BRS governed the state for a decade, yet no significant progress was made during that time,” he remarked, urging the opposition to uphold dignity and restraint.
Reiterating the Congress party's commitment to ruling the state until 2034, the Chief Minister stated that the party has consistently addressed public issues despite facing legal challenges from the BRS government, successfully regaining power.
CM Revanth Reddy clarified his intention to focus on state development, engaging in politics only during election periods.
He noted the government’s efforts to include opposition leaders in public functions, a practice that has been absent for the past ten years and should be continued to foster a spirit of cooperation.
Additionally, development projects are being sanctioned in constituencies represented by opposition parties.
