Hyderabad/New Delhi, Feb 12 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, on Thursday called upon Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to hasten the progress of crucial airport initiatives within the state.
During a meeting in New Delhi, the Chief Minister discussed the advancement and timely execution of significant airport development projects.
He informed the Union Minister that the Mamnoor Airport land acquisition in Warangal is complete and requested that the ministry commence necessary developmental activities promptly.
Regarding the proposed Kothagudem Airport, the Chief Minister indicated that appropriate land has been identified in Palvoncha and urged the ministry to carry out the Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS) survey and feasibility study to facilitate further advancements, as per the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
For the Intergama (Anthargam) Airport project, he mentioned that a new site has been located and requested the Union Minister to provide immediate approvals to push the project forward.
On the Adilabad Airport, he noted that an extra 249.82 acres of land is prepared for transfer to the Central government and sought necessary actions to accelerate the development process.
The Chief Minister stressed that enhancing aviation infrastructure would greatly improve regional connectivity, stimulate industrial growth, enhance tourism, and boost overall development throughout Telangana.
At the Wings India 2026 event in Hyderabad last month, Ram Mohan Naidu stated that the Mamnoor Airport is scheduled for development within a timeframe of two to two-and-a-half years, with an estimated investment of Rs 850 crore from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the Union Minister with documents pertaining to the land acquired for the airport.
The Civil Aviation Minister confirmed that the AAI currently possesses 969 acres of land at Mamnoor and that the Centre has requested the state government to secure an additional 200 acres. He added that the state government has since acquired the necessary land and transferred it to the AAI.
