Patna, May 30 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday criticized the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), attributing the long-standing backwardness in Bihar to their governance. He asserted that true progress in the state commenced only when the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) assumed control.
Speaking to a substantial crowd in Karakat, Bihar, PM Modi remarked that the Congress and RJD exploited the populace for years while now falsely presenting themselves as advocates of social justice.
“For countless years, individuals from the Backward Classes and Dalits were deprived of essential services and social benefits such as toilets and clean drinking water, which seemed to escape their concern. Today, they only discuss public welfare because their political relevance is in jeopardy,” PM Modi stated.
The Prime Minister emphasized the numerous development programs and initiatives that have been launched under the NDA administration, showcasing the accomplishments to the audience.
“The NDA administration has constructed four crore pucca houses, set a target for three crore Lakhpati didis, provided 12 crore tap water connections, and guaranteed free medical services for all senior citizens,” PM Modi highlighted.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that basic living conditions are met for the underprivileged. Our goal is to extend these services to 100% of the eligible beneficiaries,” he continued.
In contrast to the ‘jungle raj’ of earlier governments, he noted that the people of Bihar endured hardships without basic amenities.
“Countless individuals lived without toilets, and many Dalits lacked pucca houses. Access to bank accounts was nonexistent, forcing many to leave the state,” he explained.
He also urged Congress and RJD to justify why they allowed people to remain in poverty for so long.
PM Modi highlighted the increased attention on Bihar’s Makhana industry following the Centre granting it a GI tag, benefiting numerous farmers.
“Our mission is to include every marginalized and disadvantaged family in the development framework, enabling them to benefit from public welfare initiatives,” PM Modi concluded to the assembled crowd.
