Guwahati, Feb 4 (NationPress) The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has transformed its Senior Institute located in Maligaon, near Guwahati, into a contemporary facility boasting world-class amenities aimed at enhancing the welfare of railway employees and their families, as reported by officials on Tuesday.
NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Kapinjal Kishore Sharma announced that the revamped institute has been named “Kanaklata Bhawan” to honor Kanaklata Barua, Assam's youngest freedom fighter, who made the ultimate sacrifice during India’s fight for independence.
The cutting-edge facilities will allow railway personnel to conduct various social events and cultural activities in a dignified and well-equipped setting, he noted.
Additionally, a community hall within the premises has been refurbished and named after Bishnu Prasad Rabha, an iconic cultural figure of Assam, whose significant contributions to art, music, and social reform continue to inspire future generations.
This community hall will serve as a venue for social gatherings, cultural events, and other community activities, offering a dedicated space for railway employees and their families.
Moreover, a children's play area has been established within the Bhawan's grounds, named “Nahor Udyan”, designed to provide a safe and lively recreational environment for children.
The CPRO emphasized that this initiative showcases the Railway’s comprehensive approach to employee welfare, ensuring that family members also reap the benefits from the enhanced infrastructure and community amenities.
During the inauguration of the upgraded facilities, NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava stressed that employee welfare is a top priority for the Northeast Frontier Railway.
By enhancing infrastructure and providing improved facilities, including modernized institutes, upgraded hospitals, and renovated schools, the Railway aims to uplift the morale of its workforce, he pointed out.
“These initiatives are expected to motivate employees to perform their duties with increased efficiency, dedication, and pride. This initiative reflects the Railway’s holistic approach towards employee welfare by ensuring that family members also benefit from improved infrastructure and community facilities,” Shrivastava stated.
CPRO Sharma further conveyed that the Northeast Frontier Railway is committed to enhancing staff welfare through the development of upgraded hospitals, renovated schools, and improved institutional facilities.
Such forward-thinking measures aim to boost employee morale, promote greater efficiency, and reinforce a commitment to service excellence, he added.
