Nirmala Devi from Varanasi and Her ‘Green Army’ Honored by PM Modi for Driving Social Transformation

New Delhi, Dec 31 (NationPress) Nirmala Devi, a resident of Deora village located near Varanasi, along with her ‘Green Army’, has received a commendatory letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognizing their notable efforts in bringing about substantial social change.
The Green Army, comprised of dedicated women from Deora, has not only made an impact in their own village but has also gained attention for their transformative contributions to the community. Their altruistic work was recently acknowledged by none other than Prime Minister Modi himself.
These women united in their mission to empower one another and initiated their journey by opening a shoe-making factory. Interestingly, the first pair of slippers crafted in their factory was not intended for sale; instead, it was sent directly to Prime Minister Modi.
They dispatched the slippers to him, filled with hope that if he wore them, it would bring their efforts and aspirations to the world’s attention.
Shortly thereafter, they were thrilled to receive a letter of appreciation from the Prime Minister.
As Nirmala Devi shared the letter with the cameras, her eyes sparkled with happiness. "It felt as though he was right here with us. It was as if I met PM Modi himself!"

The heartfelt letter from Prime Minister Modi included a touching message for the sisters of the 'Green Army': "I am thrilled to learn about your slipper factory and sincerely appreciate the thoughtful gift of your creation. This is not the only transformative initiative taken by the 'Green Army'. They have been actively campaigning against various social issues for many years. Their efforts include raising awareness about drug abuse and gambling, celebrating the birth of every girl child in their community, and spearheading a movement against dowry practices.
With their efforts being recognized at the highest levels, the momentum for their social change initiative is poised to grow even stronger.
