Nitin Gadkari Unveils Rs 30,000 Crore Road and Highway Initiatives for Rajasthan

Jaipur, Dec 10 (NationPress) On the second day of the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024, a thematic session was held concentrating on infrastructure and supply chain. The discussions targeted vital aspects such as improving logistical efficiency, developing sustainable expressways, and establishing industrial zones near transportation networks to bolster operations and sustainability.

“The path of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor through Rajasthan's tribal districts is set to accelerate the development of these regions and unlock their industrial potential. An effective transport system forms one of the four essential pillars in the infrastructure sector, enabling investment flow, asset creation, and job generation,” stated Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways.

Gadkari also disclosed plans for nine road and highway projects across Rajasthan, covering a total distance of 800 km, which includes the Northern Jaipur Ring Road and the Jaipur-Kishangarh-Jodhpur to Amritsar Highway project. The projected cost for these initiatives is estimated at INR 30,000 crore.

Jogaram Patel, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister for the Government of Rajasthan, emphasized that a robust road network and logistics sector play a crucial role in the state's development.

Praveen Gupta, Principal Secretary of PWD, Government of Rajasthan, noted that the state has made significant progress in the logistics sector, leading to improved rankings.

The session, titled ‘Infrastructure: An Important Link in Supply Chain’, featured experts discussing strategies to integrate diverse transport modes for better logistical efficiency and the establishment of specialized networks for effective freight movement.

The panel also explored the importance of developing eco-friendly and sustainable expressways. Experts discussed strategies for creating dedicated industrial zones that are in close proximity to transport systems, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and scale.
