New Delhi, March 5 (NationPress) - The national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nitin Nabin, has officially submitted his nomination for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections, marking a significant step towards his participation in the Upper House.
Nitin Nabin was joined by numerous BJP leaders and enthusiastic supporters as he presented his nomination papers for this crucial election.
Alongside him was Union Home Minister Amit Shah, whose presence underscores a powerful display of unity as Nabin prepares to make his mark in national politics.
Both BJP president Nitin Nabin and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar submitted their nomination papers, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also in attendance.
In addition to Nabin, the BJP is also endorsing Shivesh Kumar as another candidate for the Rajya Sabha from Bihar.
Upendra Kushwaha, the leader of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), has also filed his nomination as an NDA candidate from Bihar. A total of five seats from the state are available in this biennial election for the Upper House.
Kushwaha’s participation as an NDA nominee could lead to a competitive election, especially if the Mahagathbandhan decides to join the fray.
The Union Home Minister arrived in Patna around noon, where he was received by Nitin Nabin at his home. Following this, Shah greeted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, acknowledging the 'beginning' of a new chapter in Kumar's political journey.
Earlier today, Nitin Nabin commenced his day with visits to prominent temples in the city, including Mahavir Mandir, Kali Temple (Bansghat), and Akandvasini Devi Temple (Golghar). He humbly sought blessings from the deities, particularly Lord Hanuman, for guidance in his public service.
The deadline for submitting nominations is March 5, while the last date to withdraw candidacies is March 9. Voting is scheduled for March 16, with counting taking place on the same day at 5 p.m., concluding the process by March 20.
