New Delhi, Feb 9 (NationPress) As BJP national president Nitin Nabin embarks on his inaugural visit to Bihar following his ascension to the party’s leadership, both BJP and JD(U) leaders on Monday hailed this occasion as a ‘proud moment’ for the state, with preparations in Patna being made to warmly welcome him.
Nabin, who holds the Bankipur seat in the Bihar Assembly, is set to participate in this week's Bihar Legislative Assembly Budget Session. His visit is particularly noteworthy as it marks his first appearance in the state since his election as the BJP’s national president.
In an interview with IANS, Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal expressed that this day is significant for the people of Bihar. “Today is special as a son of Bihar, a true pride of the state, and a youthful leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party -- the world’s largest political party -- arrives as its National President. Patna is splendidly adorned and prepared to welcome him,” he stated.
LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary also expressed her enthusiasm, noting that Nabin’s visit holds emotional value since Patna is both his birthplace and his ‘Karmabhoomi’. “This marks his first visit after becoming National President of the BJP. It’s a moment of pride and excitement for NDA leaders, and I hope he returns to Delhi with the same enthusiasm,” she remarked.
JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan referred to Nabin’s elevation and visit as a source of pride for the entire state. “This is a moment of pride for 14 crore Biharis. It is unprecedented in the BJP's history for a leader from Bihar to lead the party. He has dedicatedly served Bihar. We congratulate him and hope that under his leadership, the party will achieve great milestones and tackle all challenges,” he mentioned.
Union Minister of State Nityanand Rai highlighted the festive atmosphere in Patna, with BJP workers organizing a grand reception. “The entire city is beautifully decorated. Importantly, BJP workers are jubilant about his visit and are preparing for his welcome. The public is also excited and ready to greet him. Our respected National President, Nitin Nabin, is a youth leader, and there is immense trust in the Bharatiya Janata Party among the youth,” Rai told IANS.
Party sources indicate that Nabin is likely to meet with the Bihar BJP legislature party leader and members at the party office in Patna on Monday evening. On Tuesday, he will attend the Bihar Assembly session for the first time since being elected as BJP chief.
Nitin Nabin became the BJP’s 12th national president on January 20 after being elected unopposed. His appointment is seen as a crucial organizational move, marking a shift towards generational change within the party.
Earlier, in a surprising development, the BJP appointed the 45-year-old as the party’s national working president on December 14 last year, indicating a leadership transition.
