Patna, March 25 (NationPress) A significant uproar occurred in the Bihar Legislative Council on Tuesday when legislators from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), dressed in green T-shirts, staged a protest both inside and outside the Assembly.

They insisted on the incorporation of the 65 per cent reservation policy into the Ninth Schedule of the Indian Constitution to protect it from judicial scrutiny.

The demonstration received strong condemnation from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who branded the protest as 'bogus.'

As soon as the House proceedings commenced, RJD members rushed to the well of the Assembly, shouting slogans advocating for enhanced reservation. Numerous legislators donned green T-shirts featuring messages promoting the inclusion of the 65 per cent reservation policy in the Ninth Schedule.

In response to the protest, an irate Nitish Kumar stood up and stated, 'All this is bogus. It has no meaning. Have you seen anything like this anywhere in the country?'

He further criticized the RJD, asserting, 'There is no other party in the country that behaves like this.'

In a pointed personal attack, Kumar targeted former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, who was present in the Legislative Council.

Referring to her time in office, he remarked, 'It is her husband's party, what does she care? When her husband (Lalu Prasad) was removed from the Chief Minister's position, she was made CM. Does this mean anything? What does she even do? Have you seen anything like this in any other party?'

This comment sparked a new uproar from the opposition benches.

Addressing journalists situated on the first floor of the Legislative Council, Kumar questioned, 'Have you seen such behavior anywhere else in the country?'

Mocking the RJD's clothing, he added, 'They are wearing T-shirts they never usually wear. This is all bogus.'

Previously, RJD and Left parties' MLAs protested outside the Bihar Assembly, demanding the execution of 65 per cent reservation based on the caste-based survey conducted by the former Grand Alliance government.

RJD MLAs wore green T-shirts with slogans supporting the enhanced reservation and called for its inclusion in the Ninth Schedule of the Indian Constitution to shield it from judicial review.
