New Delhi, June 6 (NationPress) In a powerful declaration against terrorism, the Indian Sufi Foundation has voiced its support for a crucial 'fatwa' (decree) issued by the Chief Imam of the All India Imam Organisation, Umer Ahmed Ilyasi. This decree states that no Imam across the nation should offer funeral prayers (Janazah Namaz) for any terrorist who has died on Indian soil.
The National President of the Indian Sufi Foundation, Sufi Kashish Warsi, expressed unwavering support for this decree, emphasizing the necessity of protecting the true spirit of Islam from being exploited by extremists.
Warsi addressed the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam and firmly declared that no funeral prayers should be conducted for any terrorists involved.
“The terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack do not warrant a religious farewell. I wholeheartedly endorse Maulana Ilyasi’s fatwa,” he stated.
Warsi also underscored the significance of this message originating from India. “I am pleased that this voice has emerged from the sacred land of India. Nations that claim to be Islamic should have raised this voice first. It is both unfortunate and shameful that Pakistan, which identifies itself as an Islamic nation, continues to harbor and support terrorism,” he remarked.
He denounced terrorists as foes of humanity and society, stating, “A terrorist lacks religion. They only propagate bloodshed and terror. Such individuals are the genuine adversaries of Islam,” Warsi added.
In a strong appeal against those who support or glorify terrorists, he urged Muslims globally: “Anyone who tarnishes Islam through terrorism and violence should be socially ostracized. These individuals are not martyrs; they are traitors to both humanity and faith.”
“Terrorists possess no religion. If Maulana Ilyasi has issued such a fatwa and sent it to Pakistan, I would assert that those who profess their country as Islamic and claim to adhere to Islam, yet disregard such fatwas, are a disgrace. It is unfortunate as they are maligning Islam,” he concluded.
