Noida International Airport will commence commercial flight operations on 15 June 2025, the airport announced on Friday, 1 May, marking a landmark moment for aviation connectivity across North India and the broader National Capital Region (NCR). The launch follows the airport's inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the receipt of security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).

Regulatory Clearance and Security Approval

The airport has received approval for its Aerodrome Security Program (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, confirming that all security frameworks, systems, and operating procedures are in place ahead of commercial services. The airport stated that the clearance confirms its readiness to handle scheduled passenger traffic safely and in line with regulatory requirements.

"The start of services follows the inauguration of the airport by the Hon'ble Prime Minister and the receipt of approval for the ASP from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, which confirms that the airport's security framework, systems, and operating procedures are in place in line with regulatory requirements, ahead of the launch of commercial services," the airport said in an official statement.

Which Airlines Will Fly First

IndiGo will operate the inaugural commercial flight from the airport, formally beginning scheduled passenger services. Akasa Air and Air India Express are set to follow, with specific routes and timetables expected to be disclosed in the coming weeks. The phased entry of three carriers signals strong airline confidence in the new facility and its catchment potential across the NCR and neighbouring states.

Impact on NCR Aviation and Regional Connectivity

The commencement of operations at Noida International Airport is widely expected to ease congestion at existing airports serving the National Capital Region, particularly Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, which has consistently operated near or above capacity in recent years.
