NEET re-test 2025: Noida deploys CCTV, police at 23 exam centres on June 21
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
The Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has put in place comprehensive security arrangements ahead of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) re-test scheduled for 21 June 2025 (Sunday), with heightened CCTV surveillance and increased police deployment across 23 examination centres in Noida and Greater Noida. Administrative and police teams conducted inspections of all centres on 20 June to finalise security protocols and ensure candidates face no disruptions.
Exam Centre Distribution Across Zones
Joint Police Commissioner Rajiv Narayan Mishra confirmed that the 23 NEET centres are spread across three zones — five in the Noida Zone, 11 in the Central Noida Zone, and seven in the Greater Noida Zone. Senior officers of ACP, ADCP, and DCP ranks will be personally present at centres within their respective zones throughout the examination.
All officers have been directed to carry out continuous patrols and maintain close watch on security arrangements for the full duration of the exam, according to Mishra.
Security Measures and Candidate Screening
Every candidate appearing for the NEET re-test will be required to undergo mandatory screening and thorough frisking before entering any examination venue. Police Response Vehicle (PRV) teams will be stationed near centres to enable immediate emergency response if required.
Additionally, Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been invoked around all exam centres, prohibiting the assembly of any crowd within a 200-metre radius of each venue. This legal provision is aimed at preventing any organised disruption or irregularity on exam day.
What the Administration Said
'The Gautam Buddha Nagar Commissionerate states that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the examination is conducted in a completely peaceful, transparent, and orderly manner,' the Commissionerate said in an official statement.
This comes amid heightened national scrutiny of the NEET examination process following controversies in earlier cycles that prompted calls for stricter oversight. The re-test itself signals the administration's intent to restore credibility to the process.
Help Desks for Students and Parents
The Commissionerate Police has set up special help desks at major Metro stations and bus stands across the district. These desks will assist students and their parents with information on examination centre locations, traffic updates, and other logistical support on the day of the exam.
With the re-test just hours away, all eyes will be on whether the multi-layered security framework translates into a smooth, incident-free examination for thousands of aspirants in the district.
