Ahmedabad, April 16 (NationPress) The North Gujarat Postal Region has achieved an impressive revenue growth of 25.07% for the financial year 2025-26, marking total earnings of Rs 246.79 crore, as announced by officials on Thursday.

According to officials, this remarkable performance was propelled by robust advancements in postal banking, insurance, parcel services, and citizen-focused delivery systems.

Data presented at a meeting in Ahmedabad indicated that the growth was supported by strong results across all seven operational sectors identified by the Postal Directorate, with the Post Office Savings Bank surpassing the Rs 100-crore milestone for the first time in the region, achieving Rs 101 crore, which is a 3.06% year-on-year increase.

Postal Life Insurance yielded Rs 9.86 crore, representing a 28.68% increase, while Rural Postal Life Insurance reported Rs 6.57 crore, reflecting a 15.78% growth.

Parcel services played a crucial role in this growth, soaring to Rs 48.20 crore, a remarkable 190.12% increase, whereas mail operations contributed Rs 59.04 crore, up by 21.17%.

International mail services generated Rs 8.55 crore, with citizen-centric services accounting for Rs 13.47 crore, marking a 23.74% growth compared to the previous fiscal year.

Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav stated that these achievements illustrate the department's commitment to enhancing service delivery.

"The accomplishments of the North Gujarat Region highlight the Department of Posts' dedication to quality service, transparency, innovation, and public service while consistently striving to empower all segments of society," officials remarked.

The region also witnessed significant progress in financial inclusion, with 8.84 lakh new Post Office Savings Bank accounts opened during the year, raising the total number of accounts to over 43 lakh.

The Ahmedabad City Division accounted for 2.94 lakh of these new accounts, the highest in the Gujarat Circle.

More than 26,000 individuals benefited from Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance policies this year.

In rural outreach, 1,110 villages were declared "Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Gram", 400 villages as "Sampoorna Bachat Gram", and 791 villages as "Sampoorna Bima Gram", showcasing the expansion of savings and insurance coverage at the village level.

Citizen service delivery also saw growth, with 4.19 lakh Aadhaar-related services provided through post offices in the region.

Of these, 3.31 lakh were completed at counters, while 88,000 were delivered through doorstep services under the Common Services Enabled Logistics Channel (CELC).

Moreover, 68,702 passport applications were processed through Post Office Passport Seva Kendras.

Assistant Director V.M. Vhora mentioned that outreach activities were intensified through organized events across the region.

"A total of 6,771 Dak Chaupals were conducted throughout North Gujarat on various occasions, including National Postal Week, Independence Day, and Republic Day, to ensure the last-mile connectivity of postal services," he remarked.

Assistant Director Alpesh Shah noted that the "Postal Warriors" initiative played a significant role in performance monitoring and enhancing service delivery.

He added that all 1,905 Branch Post Offices in the region were classified as "Silver Postal Warrior", 1,704 as "Gold Warrior", 190 as "Diamond Warrior", and 48 as "Platinum Warrior", based on performance metrics.

He emphasized that these results reflect the collaborative efforts of divisional and sub-divisional leadership alongside postmasters and field staff throughout the region.
