New Delhi, July 11 (NationPress) National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Friday spoke at the convocation ceremony at IIT Madras, passionately defending ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s cross-border airstrike against Pakistan in response to the tragic terror incident in Pahalgam on April 22, where 26 innocent civilians lost their lives.
Doval emphasized that the operation inflicted significant damage on Pakistani military infrastructure, particularly targeting airbases. He stated that India successfully struck 13 locations, including nine terrorist camps spread across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), with impeccable accuracy and did not miss a single target during Operation Sindoor.
Addressing India's capabilities and technological advancements in countering threats from the neighboring country, he criticized the international media for focusing solely on the terrorism narrative in their coverage of the operation.
“Can you show me even one photograph, one image... These are satellite images from around the globe,” Doval challenged detractors to provide evidence of any damage within India. “Not even a glass pane has been shattered in India,” he declared, taking aim at the portrayal by international media.
“We possess the ability to do that,” he continued, referring to significant air bases in Pakistan, such as Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Chaklala, and Rawalpindi, which he claimed were targeted during the operation on May 10.
Doval praised Operation Sindoor as a “precise” and “indigenous” triumph. “Some of our top systems were utilized -- BrahMos, battlefield surveillance radars, integrated air command and control systems. We targeted nine terrorist sites and hit every single one,” he declared, noting that the entire operation was executed within 23 minutes.
This marks the first instance of NSA Doval discussing Operation Sindoor and likely serves as a response to the Opposition, particularly Rahul Gandhi, who sought clarification on the 'losses' experienced by the Indian Air Force.
By portraying the operation as flawless, Doval depicted it as evidence of India’s increasing military strength and developing strategic capabilities.
His comments underscore the government's ongoing commitment to bolstering indigenous innovation, especially in critical sectors like defense, as part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
