Bhubaneswar, Sep 15 (NationPress) Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi urged the newly appointed government employees to execute their responsibilities with integrity and dedication, and to steer clear of corruption.
On Monday, the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 1,686 new recruits from seven government departments during the 11th State-level Employment Mela in Bhubaneswar.
This event marks the second large-scale recruitment initiative in the second year of the current administration. The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government has successfully provided employment to 1,07,926 individuals in both government and private sectors.
He stated that within the last 15 months, the government has facilitated the recruitment of 30,032 individuals through 11 Employment Melas.
The government's objective is to offer government positions to 65,000 candidates within the first two years of its term.
He assured that an additional 40,000 government roles will be filled by June 2026. The Chief Minister congratulated the new appointees and urged them to maintain a stance above corruption while building a positive reputation through their work.
He emphasized the importance of making honesty a core aspect of their work ethos, stressing the need to work with integrity and dedication while upholding public trust.
"A government job serves not merely as a source of income but as a vital tool for public service. Work with honesty, rise above corruption, and let integrity be an inherent part of your professional culture. Gaining the public's goodwill is the ultimate reward," he stated.
The CM assured that the entire hiring process is conducted with complete transparency and solely on merit.
"Every examination conducted by our government has been devoid of corruption and malpractice. We take swift and stringent action whenever even minor complaints arise," he added.
He underscored the government's intention to create a level field for all applicants, ensuring that only the most deserving and qualified candidates succeed.
Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo reiterated the administration’s pledge to fulfill its commitments.
"Our goal is to create 1.5 lakh jobs in five years. We have already surpassed 30,000 and are determined to fill all vacancies within this term," Singh Deo stated.
The Health, IT, and Electronics Minister also addressed the audience, emphasizing efforts to fill vacant positions across various departments, particularly in health services, to enhance the quality of public service delivery.
