Bhubaneswar, Nov 24 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized on Monday that his government is dedicated to ensuring all fundamental amenities, opportunities, and support for the residents of Odisha.
After addressing a significant number of petitioners at the Chief Minister's Grievance Cell over the weekend, Majhi informed reporters that the state government is working tirelessly to create a prosperous and developed Odisha while prioritizing the needs of its people.
The event witnessed an impressive turnout, with reports indicating that over 3,000 individuals attended to submit their petitions to the Chief Minister.
CM Majhi noted that nearly 1,000 individuals had pre-registered, with many more arriving throughout the day seeking resolutions for their concerns.
The Chief Minister began by meeting 34 differently-abled and critically ill applicants, attentively listening to their issues, collecting their grievance petitions, and directing immediate action from the officials present.
He shared that during the last 14 grievance hearings, approximately 12,950 petitions were collected, with nearly 12,371 cases — about 96 percent — successfully resolved.
Currently, efforts are underway to address the remaining 579 grievance petitions.
Majhi reiterated the government’s commitment to resolving public concerns promptly, typically within one month to 100 days.
During the camp, issues pertaining to land disputes, road accessibility, school and teacher shortages, and other significant civic challenges were brought to light.
"Direct engagement with the public is crucial. We are dedicated to ensuring justice and timely resolutions," he remarked.
Majhi also stated that such public grievance forums are instrumental in restoring public trust that their issues can be addressed at the state level.
He further mentioned, "When citizens approach us directly, they gain assurance that the CM’s grievance cell will take action. We will persist in this people-centric initiative and strive to resolve every legitimate concern."
The hearing extended for several hours as ministers and officials reviewed petitions and promised necessary follow-up measures.
Notably, eight ministers, including Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari and MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallick, along with Forest Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia and Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, were present to aid in the grievance resolution process.
In total, nine ministers participated alongside the Chief Minister during the hearing.
