Bhubaneswar, Jan 26 (NationPress) The Governor of Odisha, Hari Babu Kambhampati, ceremoniously unfurled the national flag during the state-level Republic Day celebrations at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
He reviewed the salute from the impressive marching contingents during a grand parade featuring security forces. A total of 43 contingents, comprising 17 from the armed forces and 26 from various educational institutions in the city, participated in the event.
Participating security forces included Odisha Police, Border Security Force, Odisha State Armed Police, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, among others. The students from Maharishi College of Natural Law delivered a breathtaking daredevil performance that captivated the audience.
Additionally, students from the Odisha Skating Academy showcased their skills during the festivities at Mahatma Gandhi Marg. Various cultural performances, including traditional dances like Sambalpuri, Ghoda, and tribal dance, were presented by different artist troupes. A platoon from the neighboring Jharkhand Police also participated in the parade.
Different departments of the Odisha government displayed various themes revolving around the state’s flagship programs through 12 eye-catching tableaux.
“Let us celebrate the essence of our nation and the pride that our constitution brings,” Governor Kambhampati expressed in a message on his official X handle, wishing the residents well.
It is notable that Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unfurled the national flag in Cuttack and took the salute during the district-level celebrations. Likewise, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida attended the Republic Day functions in Puri and Khordha, respectively.
Other ministers, including Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari in Sundargarh and Panchayati Raj minister Rabi Narayan Nayak, School and Mass Education Minister Nityanand Gond, and Food Supplies minister Krushna Chandra Patra, participated in celebrations across various districts such as Subarnapur, Koraput, and Jagatsinghpur.
Numerous other ministers and dignitaries were present at the Republic Day ceremonies held throughout the state.
