Odisha's Deputy CM Pravati Parida Unveils Vision for 'Sundar, Sakhyam, Sudrudha' Anganwadis

Bhubaneswar, April 2 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Pravati Parida, who also oversees the Women and Child Development (WCD) sector, underlined the significance of establishing “Sundar, Sakhyam, Sudrudha” Anganwadi centres as a top objective for the state government.
In a pivotal move to fortify the childcare framework at the grassroots level, 1,889 newly built Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) were virtually inaugurated across all 30 districts of Odisha.
This initiative seeks to enhance early childhood care, nutrition services, and pre-school education within communities. The event in Bhubaneswar was also attended by Rabi Narayan Naik, the Minister for State Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Drinking Water Department.
In her address, Parida reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fostering quality and inclusive infrastructure for both children and women.
The vision of this initiative is that every Anganwadi centre embodies the principles of “Sundar, Sakhyam, Sudrudha”, showcasing enhanced facilities, improved service delivery, and overall growth.
During the event, the Deputy Chief Minister engaged with district officials from Balasore, Ganjam, Cuttack, Angul, Deogarh, and other regions, reviewing the advancements in Anganwadi infrastructure projects. She emphasized the importance of timely project completion and effective implementation to maximize grassroots benefits.
Minister Naik pointed out that the children enrolled in these Anganwadi centres will significantly contribute to shaping a prosperous Odisha by 2036.
He commended the WCD Department for its ongoing efforts under Parida’s leadership.
Officials from the WCD Department highlighted that the extensive initiative has been facilitated by robust inter-departmental collaboration between the Women and Child Development Department and the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, ensuring effective execution and wider outreach across the state.
