New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) On Tuesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the nation as Holi approaches, as reported by an official source.

In his message, Birla expressed, "Warm wishes to everyone on the delightful festival of Holi, which symbolizes colors, joy, and communal harmony."

He emphasized that the festival is a vibrant representation of India’s rich culture, traditions, and fraternity.

"Holi serves as a reminder that regardless of the challenges we face in life, the colors of love, faith, and positivity can illuminate even the darkest moments. When we color each other, we dismantle barriers of discrimination, sending forth a message of equality and unity. This unity is our greatest strength as a nation," he articulated.

He further noted, "Despite our country's diversity, Holi weaves us together in a fabric of unity and brotherhood."

"This Holi, let us commit to infusing our society with the colors of love, peace, and harmony, and share the festive spirit with those in solitude or need," Birla urged.

He concluded with warm wishes for all, hoping that life is forever adorned with the vibrant colors of happiness, and that our nation continues to thrive with the hues of love, progress, and togetherness.

Earlier, with the goal of promoting nature-based approaches for a vibrant, joyful, and eco-friendly Holi and other festivals, the Environment Ministry organized workshops across Eco-Clubs to advocate for safe and sustainable celebrations aligned with Mission LiFE, an official added.

During engaging sessions, students discovered how to create natural colors using edible and leafy ingredients. For instance, green is derived from fresh greens, red from beetroot, yellow from turmeric (haldi), and orange from Gogupuvvu (Palash), according to a statement from the Ministry.

As part of the Environment Education Programme (EEP) facilitated by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, eco-friendly Holi color workshops are being conducted nationwide, the statement elaborated.

These colors are entirely free of chemicals and harmful substances, ensuring that celebrations are safe for both individuals and the environment, the statement affirmed.

Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) is a global initiative led by India, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage both individual and collective actions for environmental preservation.

Its objective is to transform individuals into "Pro-Planet People" (P3) by fostering sustainable daily habits—such as minimizing waste, conserving energy, and steering clear of single-use plastics—to transition from a "use-and-dispose" economy to a circular economy.
