During the “Sashakt Samaj – Samridh Bharat” event, organized by the Vishwa Sindhi Hindu Foundation of Associations (VSHFA) at Vigyan Bhawan, Birla praised the community’s collective strength and resilience, noting that it exemplifies the very principles that underpin a robust India.
He remarked that the community has continuously showcased excellence in various sectors including business, industry, banking, services, and emerging technologies, thereby creating livelihoods for millions.
Birla pointed out that their achievements are grounded not only in economic savvy but also in deeply ingrained values of trust, collaboration, and ethical behavior—qualities that significantly enhance the nation’s advancement.
The Lok Sabha Speaker underscored that the challenges encountered by the Sindhi community during Partition only fortified them further.
In spite of the devastating loss of material wealth, the Sindhi community tenaciously preserved their faith, traditions, customs, and cultural identity.
“They rebuilt their lives with remarkable determination, transforming adversity into opportunity. Their journey serves as a profound testament to resilience and cultural pride,” he stated.
Birla highlighted that India’s strength is rooted in its diversity, emphasizing that unity, coordination, and mutual respect among all communities are essential to achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
He acknowledged the Sindhi community's substantial contributions in education, health, social service, and community welfare, emphasizing their commitment to inclusive progress and social upliftment.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
Highlighting his long-standing and positive relationship with the Sindhi community since 2003, Birla affirmed that their support and goodwill have always been unwavering.
He shared insights from his overseas parliamentary delegations, noting that in countries like Barbados, Suriname, and Mexico, he has met vibrant members of the Sindhi community who adeptly preserve their heritage while being integral parts of local economies and social structures.
He credited the entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and forward-thinking mindset of Sindhi youth as vital catalysts for India’s growth, particularly in technology and new-age industries.
“Their contributions motivate other communities and bolster national development initiatives,” he remarked.
Echoing Prime Minister Modi’s sentiments, Birla stated that the community has provided a global lesson in how resilience, hard work, and cultural integrity lead to success and the restoration of lives.
