Key Takeaways
Jaipur, Jan 27 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan, Tika Ram Jully, asserted that significant issues were brought up during the all-party meeting. He emphasized that the government must address every concern raised by the opposition in the House.
“The government can choose its response, but it must at least provide an answer,” he remarked.
Jully pointed out that the farmers, youth, underprivileged, and women of the state are attentively observing the proceedings of the Assembly with anticipation.
He mentioned, “The outcome of the meeting should yield positive results. Otherwise, it will be the same old narrative. We are determined not to retreat.” He also noted that the opposition raised concerns regarding cameras before the Speaker.
Continuing his remarks, Jully stated that these issues will be addressed in the House when the session commences. He alleged that the introduction of the Disturbed Areas Bill aims to tarnish Rajasthan’s reputation.
“Riots have occurred in Rajasthan, and it is widely known who is accountable for them. Certain elements aim to undermine Rajasthan’s longstanding image of ‘Atithi Devo Bhavah’ throughout the nation,” he commented.
He questioned the motives behind introducing the bill in Rajasthan, indicating that it reflects the mindset of its proponents.
“The repercussions will become evident in the near future. Tourism is already on a decline. What image do they wish to convey about Rajasthan?” he queried.
Regarding the OBC reservation in the TSP area, the Leader of the Opposition stated that this topic will be deliberated during the legislative party meeting.
He reiterated that the struggle for the rights of all sections of the state will be championed in the Assembly.
“Today’s meeting was merely an all-party discussion. Whether this agenda will be included in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will be determined subsequently. Our future strategy will be established during the legislative party meeting tomorrow at 7:00 pm,” he added.
On the UGC code, Jully mentioned that the party’s stance has not yet been solidified. He indicated that if any bill promotes non-discrimination and fosters harmony, there should be no objections.
The party’s position will be established at a later time. The Legislative Assembly is set to commence on Wednesday, January 28. An all-party meeting was conducted at the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, presided over by Speaker Vasudev Devnani.
During this meeting, a consensus was reached to ensure that the House proceedings are conducted peacefully and in alignment with established rules and traditions.
Members from both ruling and opposition parties assured the Speaker that they would uphold decorum and employ respectful and dignified language during the session.
