Prayagraj, Feb 26 (NationPress) By noon on Wednesday, more than one crore devotees have immersed themselves in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, signifying an extraordinary increase in participation during the Maha Kumbh festival in celebration of Maha Shivratri.
As numerous individuals converge for the final ceremonial dip, the Maha Kumbh draws to a close with remarkable spiritual enthusiasm.
To accommodate the substantial crowd, comprehensive security protocols have been implemented, especially around notable Lord Shiva temples. The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, has guaranteed effective crowd control, with officials affirming the smooth execution of logistics.
Enhancing the festivities, a stunning cascade of 20 quintals of rose petals showered upon the pilgrims as they engaged in the sacred practices at the Sangam. This floral homage, organized by the state government, elevated the spiritual atmosphere and was met with great delight and reverence.
Devotees from all over the nation, along with international guests, have voiced their admiration for the magnitude and holiness of the Maha Kumbh.
A foreign visitor, experiencing this event for the first time, remarked, "It feels profoundly spiritual and exceptional. I've attended numerous festivals, but India is genuinely one-of-a-kind... I can't adequately express it."
Another pilgrim expressed their appreciation, stating, "I feel blessed to witness this divine spectacle. The arrangements are outstanding, and everything is running seamlessly."
Despite the overwhelming crowd, CM Yogi Adityanath's vigilant oversight has ensured the event's excellent organization. Pilgrims have widely commended the effective arrangements, highlighting the flawless management of the world's most significant religious gathering.
In security updates, ADG Prayagraj Bhanu Bhaskar informed IANS, "Since the morning, large groups have been arriving at the ghats. So far, 41 lakh individuals have bathed, bringing the total visitor count to 64.77 crores. A strong police presence is stationed at all Shivalayas throughout the city, in addition to the Sangam, to ensure smooth worship and darshan."
Discussing the movement strategy, he added, "Our traditional exit route goes through Triveni via Mahavir Ho and Akshay Bhatt Ho, but we've opened additional exit points. Each Shiva temple has specific entry and exit routes to effectively manage the crowd."
DIG Maha Kumbh, Vaibhav Krishna, highlighted the success of crowd management, stating, "There is no VIP movement today, and no mechanized boats are permitted at the ghats -- only manually operated paddle boats are in use. Police forces are stationed at all Shiva temples to ensure orderly water offerings and darshan."
The Maha Kumbh 2025 has established an unmatched record with over 64 crore devotees participating in the holy dip, making it the largest human gathering ever recorded.
