Ranchi, April 12 (NationPress) In response to credible information regarding a suspected question paper leak ahead of the Excise constable recruitment examination in Jharkhand, law enforcement officials conducted a raid in the Tamar police station vicinity, detaining over 100 individuals for interrogation, as confirmed by officials on Sunday.
The police operation took place in the Rangamati area following reports of unusual activities within a building, where candidates were reportedly preparing with what is suspected to be a leaked exam paper. During the raid, authorities seized mobile devices, various documents, and other materials, which are currently under investigation.
All detainees have been transported to the Tamar police station, where they are undergoing questioning. Police officials stated that the investigation is being conducted thoroughly, leaving open the possibility of an organized scheme or broader conspiracy linked to the suspected leak. However, officials have clarified that there is currently no official confirmation regarding the actual leak of the examination paper.
The recruitment test is scheduled to take place statewide on April 12, across 370 centers in eight districts, with approximately 1.48 lakh candidates who have previously passed the physical efficiency test, competing for 583 positions.
Vigilance measures have been intensified in districts such as Dhanbad to guarantee a fair examination process. Following directives from SSP Prabhat Kumar, police teams executed late-night inspections at hotels, lodgings, and dharamshalas on Saturday. Guests were verified, and operators were cautioned against accommodating individuals lacking valid identification.
The administration has reiterated stringent regulations prohibiting mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and other electronic gadgets within examination venues.
Candidates are encouraged to comply with the rules and collaborate with authorities, with officials warning that strict actions will be taken against any attempts at malpractice.
