Over 168,000 Public Grievances Addressed in Two Years, Pending Cases at Record Low: Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, Nov 4 (NationPress) The government revealed on Wednesday that 168,964 public grievances have been addressed within the last two years.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, updated the Lok Sabha that the backlog of grievances in the government has now reached its lowest level — 54,339 public grievances as of October 31.
“The average resolution time has decreased from 28 days in 2019 to 13 days in 2024,” he stated.
The Centralised Pension Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) has effectively eliminated cases pending for over two years, and “168,964 grievances have been resolved during the past two years (from 01.11.2022 to 31.10.2024),” Dr. Singh noted.
From 2020 to 2024, a total of 11,230,957 grievances were addressed, with an annual record high of 2,324,323 grievances resolved on the CPGRAMS portal from January to October 2024.
The government implemented a 10-step reform process through CPGRAMS to ensure that grievance resolution is timely, effective, and accessible. Additionally, 103,183 grievance officers have been mapped onto the CPGRAMS portal.
This initiative has successfully reduced the backlog to its lowest level of 54,339 public grievances.
The government has undertaken numerous steps to enhance accessibility for citizens in remote and rural regions, leading to the registration of over 2.8 million citizens on the CPGRAMS portal across 795 districts nationwide, with an average monthly citizen registration of 70,000.
The Centre has partnered with Common Service Centres (CSC) to utilize the network of Village-Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) across 5.6 lakh villages.
To address grievances specific to family pensioners and super-senior pensioners, these issues have been categorized for better tracking, including delays in initiating family pensions and additional pensions.
“Moreover, regular reminders are sent and monthly inter-ministerial review meetings (IMRMs) are held for these cases. Under a 100-day action plan, a month-long special campaign aimed at resolving family pension grievances was launched in July 2024, achieving a 94 percent resolution rate,” the minister stated.
