Bhopal, Feb 3 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta Police have compiled a list of over 30 individuals who are set to be interrogated regarding the disproportionate assets case involving the former Regional Transport Office (RTO) Constable Saurabh Sharma, as reported by officials on Monday.

Included in the interrogation are Saurabh's mother, wife, and various close relatives.

Several of these individuals have previously been questioned after the arrest of Sharma and his two associates last week.

Sources familiar with the situation informed IANS that more than 50 properties linked to Sharma and his associates, Chetan Gaur and Sharad Jaiswal, were seized; however, the majority of these properties are registered under the names of other individuals, many of whom are their relatives.

According to an official statement to IANS, "More than 30 people have been identified for questioning, and notices have been sent out. The process is ongoing and is expected to conclude by February 4."

Saurabh Sharma and his two associates are currently in Lokayukta custody until February 4.

During their interrogation, they have disclosed numerous other names.

Sharma and Gaur were apprehended on January 28, while Jaiswal was taken into custody on January 29.

The trio faces charges related to disproportionate assets.

Over the last two and a half months, various agencies, including the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta, Income Tax Department, and Enforcement Directorate, have executed raids in numerous locations across Bhopal, Gwalior, and Jabalpur.

The case garnered heightened attention after the Income Tax Department discovered approximately 52 kg of gold and cash amounting to Rs 11 lakh from an abandoned vehicle in a forested area in Bhopal on December 19.

In December 2024, the Enforcement Directorate raided over a dozen locations associated with Sharma's relatives, who are suspected of being involved in the case.

Sharma began his career in the Transport Department in 2016 as a Constable on compassionate grounds following his father's passing in 2015.

After serving for 12 years, he opted for voluntary retirement in 2023, even though an inquiry against him was still pending at that time.
