New Delhi, Nov 19 (NationPress) AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi responded on Wednesday to a recently circulated video featuring Dr Umar Muhammad, also known as Umar Un Nabi, who is implicated in the Delhi blast. In the video, Umar attempts to rationalize suicide bombings, asserting that the killing of innocents constitutes “a grave sin” and is indeed “terrorism”.
Following the Delhi blast incident, a self-recorded video emerged of Dr Umar, the driver of the i20 car, in which he seeks to justify his heinous actions, labeling them as a “martyrdom operation”.
In his response via X, Owaisi stated, “There is an undated video of Delhi blasts accused Umar Nabi justifying suicide bombing as 'martyrdom', and that it's 'misunderstood'. Suicide is haram in Islam, and the killing of innocents is a grave sin. Such acts are also against the law of the land. They are not 'misunderstood' in any way. This is terrorism and nothing else.”
Owaisi also challenged the central government regarding the Delhi blast, demanding accountability for the “failure to detect” the terror network.
He questioned, “During Operation Sindoor and Mahadev, Home Minister Amit Shah had assured Parliament that no local Kashmiri had joined terror groups in the last six months. Where did this group come from then? Who is accountable for the failure to detect this group?”
In the viral clip, Dr Umar speaks with a heavy accent, attempting to link his terror plot to religious beliefs. He claims, “One of the very misunderstood concepts is the concept of suicide bombing; it is a martyrdom operation; as it has been known in Islam... There are multiple contradictions and arguments that have been brought against it -- martyrdom operation.”
He elaborates that a “martyrdom operation” occurs when someone believes they are destined to die at a specific time and place.
This video has unveiled the mindset behind suicide bombing, revealing extensive planning for a large-scale terror attack.
The car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station on November 10 resulted in the deaths of at least 13 individuals and injured numerous others. Dr Umar, who is associated with Faridabad's Al Falah University, was driving the car.
Authorities confirmed that he disappeared on November 9, just after police conducted raids in Faridabad, uncovering nearly 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate and arresting several of his accomplices.
During their investigation, law enforcement found that Umar and Dr Muzammil, who was apprehended after the police dismantled the terror network, had traveled to Turkey, believed to be the base of their handlers.
