Jammu, May 30 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Friday that by recognizing India’s airstrikes on terrorist infrastructure as an assault, Pakistan has revealed its identity as a country that harbors terrorists.

While addressing a public gathering in Poonch town, Amit Shah remarked, “We targeted terrorists, and Pakistan labeled it an attack on itself, thereby acknowledging its role as a nation that shelters terrorists. Fortunately, not a single soldier or civilian was harmed in our precise strikes. However, just a day later, Pakistan began shelling our civilian areas along the LoC. The most significant destruction occurred in Poonch, which experienced such shelling for the first time since Independence.”

“Damage occurred in other areas as well...Today, the global community condemns Pakistan’s aggression against civilians. In response, our armed forces retaliated and dismantled 11 Pakistani airfields, compelling them to seek a ceasefire,” he elaborated.

Amit Shah commenced his speech by extending heartfelt condolences to the families affected. He emphasized that he had come to denounce the Pakistani assault on civilians and places of worship.

“A program is being held here today to distribute appointment letters to the families of those who lost their lives in recent Pakistani shelling of civilian areas. While these letters cannot replace the loss of your loved ones, they symbolize our nation’s solidarity with you during this sorrowful time. The courage demonstrated by the people of Poonch, along with those from the Valley to the Kathua district, has further bolstered the morale of our country,” the minister stated.

“The cowardly assault in Pahalgam was met with a forceful response under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s doctrine of retaliating against terror with greater strength. On the night of May 7, our armed forces obliterated terror infrastructure deep within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Thanks to our intelligence agencies and the valor of our armed forces, numerous terrorists were eliminated,” he added.

“India will not accept any form of aggression, and in the future, our response will be even more formidable. Lt Governor Sahib has informed me that the J&K government has extended assistance to the victims in Poonch. The Central government is poised to announce a relief package for the victims of Poonch. I assure you that the development of J&K will continue at the same pace as it did when Narendra Modi took office in 2014. I express my gratitude to the Lt Governor, the Chief Minister, and the local administration for their support during these trying times. A senior civil servant also sacrificed his life while aiding the affected,” HM Shah stated.

“People were relocated to safer areas; otherwise, our losses could have been significantly higher. Since Narendra Modi's administration began, we have constructed over 9,500 bunkers for border residents. During the three days of hostilities, these bunkers saved countless lives. This morning, I spoke with the Lt Governor and the local administration. We will construct more bunkers for the future safety of our citizens,” he assured.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that terror and trade, blood and water cannot coexist. The defense of our nation will be further reinforced. The current lull in J&K’s advancement is merely temporary. Progress will soon resume at the same pace as it did in 2014,” HM Shah concluded.
