Jammu, Jan 27 (NationPress) Passengers have shown their appreciation to the railways for the effective operation of the special train service connecting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station with Srinagar in J&K on Tuesday.
According to Raghvender Singh, public relations inspector at Jammu railways, the Northern Railway's Jammu Division is dedicated to offering passengers top-notch facilities alongside a comfortable travel experience.
In keeping with its commitment to passenger convenience, the special reserved train numbered 04627 was successfully launched today, January 27, between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar.
“This special reserved train was initiated by the Jammu Division due to the heavy crowds and poor weather conditions. It proved to be an extremely convenient and secure option for travelers. The train departed from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra on schedule at 8:10 am,” he mentioned.
He noted that over 650 passengers utilized this service.
“Travelers expressed their thanks to the railways for this special reserved train, emphasizing that the Jammu Division consistently offers improved travel options by periodically operating special trains,” he added.
“Given the adverse weather and snowfall, this special train operation was crucial. With air and road travel impacted, the railway service emerged as the only reliable option for enhanced facilities,” he explained.
In relation to special reserved train number 04628, this train arrived at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from Srinagar today, January 27.
“It left Srinagar at its scheduled time of 2 PM. Over 700 passengers traveled on this special reserved train. Travelers from Srinagar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra commended the railway's initiative, noting the seamless journey experienced by the tourists arriving in Kashmir from various regions of the country,” he stated.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal commented on the successful operation of the special train, stating, "This special reserved train has enhanced connectivity between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and the Kashmir Valley during challenging weather conditions. It maintained an occupancy rate exceeding 100 percent during its operation.”
He further elaborated that passengers greatly valued this service, particularly during disruptions to road and air travel.
“This initiative is essential for ensuring safe travel in inclement weather, significantly improving passenger convenience, especially as many tourists flock to Kashmir during the snowy season,” he added.
He suggested that this could lead to an uptick in tourist visits to Kashmir.
