Pawan Kalyan Engages in Talks with Chandrababu Naidu Regarding Nagababu's Cabinet Position

Amaravati, Dec 16 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, convened with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday to reportedly finalize the integration of his brother, K. Nagababu, into the state Cabinet.

It is understood that the two leaders deliberated over the specific portfolio that would be assigned to Nagababu.

Moreover, the chiefs of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena are believed to have established a date for Nagababu’s oath-taking ceremony.

In addition, they reviewed the current political landscape, the conclusive list for filling nominated positions, along with other pertinent matters.

Naidu and Pawan Kalyan are also thought to have agreed on a strategy to collaborate for the success in upcoming elections for cooperative bodies, aiming to replicate their recent achievements in elections for water users’ associations.

Last week, the Chief Minister announced that Nagababu would be inducted into the Cabinet. Since he is not a member of the Assembly, discussions between him and Pawan Kalyan also revolved around plans to nominate him to the Legislative Council.

Nagababu, who is the elder sibling of Pawan Kalyan and younger brother of megastar Chiranjeevi, is also a notable actor and film producer. As the General Secretary of Jana Sena, he played an active role in campaigning for the party during the recent elections.

As the TDP has named two candidates for the bye-elections to Rajya Sabha and reserved one seat for its alliance partner BJP, it has opted to accommodate another partner, Jana Sena, within the Cabinet.

The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by TDP boasts 164 MLAs in a 175-member Assembly, with TDP holding 135 seats, while Jana Sena and BJP possess 21 and 8 seats, respectively.

Nagababu, also referred to as Nagendra Babu, is set to become the fourth minister from Jana Sena. Since he is not a member of the Assembly, it is anticipated that the coalition will nominate him to the Legislative Council to facilitate his induction into the Cabinet.

Presently, the ministers from Jana Sena in the Naidu-led Cabinet include Pawan Kalyan, Nadendla Manohar, and Kandula Durgesh.

The state Cabinet has a maximum capacity of 25 members. Naidu and 23 ministers took their oaths on June 12. The TDP had previously inducted three ministers from Jana Sena and one from BJP, leaving one vacancy for the Jana Sena.
