New Delhi, Oct 13 (NationPress) - On Monday, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal unveiled the Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2025 during an event celebrating the 4th anniversary of PM GatiShakti.
In his address, the minister stated: "LEAPS 2025 signifies another important step forward, acknowledging the contributions of various stakeholders in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics across the country."
LEAPS stands as a premier initiative by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, designed to set benchmarks for logistics excellence, elevate India's global competitiveness, and align with the goals of the National Logistics Policy (NLP) and PM GatiShakti.
This initiative is aimed at recognizing and celebrating exemplary practices, innovation, and leadership within India’s logistics sector, encompassing a diverse range of logistics entities — such as air, road, sea, and rail freight operators, warehousing, multimodal transporters, MSMEs, startups, and educational institutions.
Moreover, the initiative highlights the importance of sustainability, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, and Green Logistics, fostering collaboration among government, industry, and academia to boost efficiency, transparency, and resilience within the logistics ecosystem, as stated by the government.
Registration for LEAPS 2025 is currently open on the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal, with interested parties able to submit applications until November 15.
Submissions are accepted across 13 categories.
In the core logistics sector, applicants involved in air freight, road freight, maritime freight, rail freight, multimodal transport operations (MTOs), and warehousing services (including agriculture) are encouraged to apply.
Additionally, MSMEs that are logistics service providers, startups engaged in logistics technology and operations, educational institutions promoting the logistics domain, as well as logistics service providers for e-Commerce operations and multimodal logistics services are also eligible.
The government emphasized that LEAPS 2025 builds on the transformative vision of PM GatiShakti and the National Logistics Policy (NLP) 2022, with the goal of enhancing efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability in India's logistics industry.
By rewarding innovation, LEAPS 2025 aims to develop a future-ready logistics ecosystem that reinforces Make in India, supports Atmanirbhar Bharat, and contributes to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
