Raipur, Nov 3 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi forged an unforgettable moment during Chhattisgarh's Silver Jubilee celebrations last Saturday, breaking from tradition by wearing a vibrant “Mor Mukut”—a crown made of peacock feathers, presented by the “Ramnami Samaj”, a community whose members bear the tattooed mantra "Ram Ram" as a lifelong devotion to Lord Ram. As tears flowed down the faces of worshippers, PM Modi prioritized cultural significance over security protocols, instructing his team to bring the 'Mor Mukut' to the stage.

This heartfelt gesture complemented the unveiling of a massive investment of Rs 14,260 crore in infrastructure, including roads, energy grids, and healthcare facilities, overshadowing the formal proceedings and celebrating the deep cultural connection. Elder Pala Ram, who wrapped a shawl around Narendra Modi, praised the Prime Minister's leadership in the construction of the Ayodhya Ram Temple.

“Our 200-year legacy is sustained solely by the name of Ram—without rituals, just ceaseless devotion,” he stated. The crown, crafted through stringent fasting for purity, represented gratitude. “Kings embody the divine; we are thrilled he wore our tribal pride,” Pala Ram remarked, marking this as PM Modi's first experience wearing the Ramnami mukut and odhni.

The community requested increased efforts for cow conservation, promotion of sattvic diets, and enhanced village welfare, expressing concerns over their dwindling numbers and the need for heritage protection.

Earlier, during their gathering in Sakti district, they had anticipated this crowning moment, referring to PM Modi as a “returning monarch.”

Pala Ram added, “When PM Modi visited us before, our elder mother told him to come back wearing the ‘Raj Mukut’ and next time, to don the ‘Mor Mukut.’ Initial security barriers led to outcries, but PM Modi's quick response transformed disappointment into elation, solidifying the Ramnami as the embodiment of devotion.”

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai shared an emotional video on X, stating, “An unforgettable display of love,” while commending PM Modi's compassion in facilitating the crown's arrival. During the unveiling of the new Assembly and the Brahma Kumaris' Shanti Shikhar, PM Modi’s visit symbolized a blend of reverence and governance. In challenging times, it fostered greater unity within Chhattisgarh.
