New Delhi, Feb 24 (NationPress) On February 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the legacy of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on her birth anniversary, remarking that she holds a unique place in the hearts of many as a dynamic leader and remarkable administrator. PM Modi emphasized her qualities of compassion and decisiveness.

In a heartfelt message on social media, PM Modi wrote, "Today, I pay tribute to Jayalalithaa Ji on her birth anniversary. She has etched her name in the hearts of countless individuals as an inspiring leader and exceptional administrator. Her life was characterized by immense courage and determination. As Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister, she prioritized welfare-driven governance, focusing on women's empowerment, social justice, and inclusive growth. Her dual nature of being both compassionate and decisive was remarkable. I cherish the memories of our interactions with great joy."

PM Modi also shared a video from his radio show, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, where he praised Jayalalithaa as a “widely respected and cherished leader,” reminiscing about her administrative impact and their personal friendship during the 131st episode.

He referred to Jayalalithaa as a monumental figure in Tamil Nadu politics, whose contributions will always symbolize women's leadership.

“Jayalalithaa was a beloved leader who had the people's affection. My bond with her feels like a sacred tree planted in my heart," PM Modi reflected during the broadcast.

Highlighting her governance approach, the Prime Minister noted that Jayalalithaa took decisive steps to uphold law and order in Tamil Nadu, earning the trust of the populace through her strong leadership.

He remarked that her public service would forever serve as a benchmark for women's empowerment in Indian politics.

PM Modi expressed that he still perceives the profound love the people of Tamil Nadu have for her during his visits to the state.

“Even now, when I visit Tamil Nadu, I can feel the deep bond the people share with Jayalalithaa. Her name evokes a distinct spark among them,” he stated.

Recalling his time as Gujarat Chief Minister, PM Modi added, “Every meeting and interaction with Amma Jayalalithaa is vivid in my memory. She attended my swearing-in ceremonies in Gujarat in 2002 and 2012. During our tenure as Chief Ministers, we often shared insights on good governance. Her thoughts were lucid and uncomplicated, which was one of her distinctive traits. Many years ago, she graciously invited me for lunch in Chennai during Pongal, a gesture I will always cherish.”

He acknowledged Jayalalithaa's significant support for Gujarat during his administration.

“Her commitment to the nation and her dedication to its progress were commendable,” he concluded.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid homage to Jayalalithaa, stating, "I pay my respects to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and people's leader J. Jayalalithaa Ji on her Jayanti.
