PM Modi Honors Sikh Contributions and Sahibzaades in Discussion with Diljit

New Delhi, Jan 4 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently welcomed the celebrated Punjabi artist and actor Diljit Dosanjh to his residence. In their engaging dialogue, the Prime Minister emphasized the significant contributions of the Sikh community and paid homage to the sacrifices made by the Sahibzaades, who have left an indelible mark on Sikh history through their brief yet extraordinary lives.
Throughout their discussion, PM Modi commended Diljit for his inspiring journey, stating, “A son of India’s village bringing pride to the nation on a global scale is a wonderful feeling. You are fortunate that your family chose the name Diljit, as it symbolizes how you continue to win hearts.”
Diljit reciprocated the admiration, praising PM Modi for his political journey and unwavering dedication to the nation. The Prime Minister humbly attributed his achievements to divine grace.
“With God’s grace, anything is possible. In our country, we perceive divinity in everything, even in trees,” he remarked.
The discussion also highlighted the Sikh community’s pivotal role in India, with PM Modi honoring the sacrifices of the Sahibzaades. He shared personal experiences from Punjab, noting, “I have witnessed how families sleep on the floor following the loss of a mother. I celebrate Veer Baal Diwas and aspire for every child in this nation to grasp the true essence of strength and faith.”
PM Modi recounted his endeavors to restore a Gurdwara in Kutch, Gujarat, where Guru Nanak Dev once resided. He detailed how the structure, devastated by the 2001 earthquake, was rebuilt under his guidance before he assumed the role of Gujarat’s Chief Minister.
During their meeting, Diljit expressed a heartfelt sentiment: “I recently viewed one of your interviews, Sir. For us, the Prime Minister occupies a profoundly significant role, and we often overlook the human aspect behind the title. When I observed you speaking about your mother and Ganga Maiya with such passion, it was incredibly moving. Such heartfelt words resonate deeply.”
In response, PM Modi commended Diljit for his humility and dedication to his craft, despite achieving substantial fame.
