New Delhi, Dec 27 (NationPress) BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi remarked on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a 'Gudri Ke Lal' (a man hailing from modest beginnings), contrasting the Congress’s first family, referred to as 'Jawahar Ke Lal'.
This statement was made while he was discussing the organizational dynamics between the BJP and Congress, highlighting the extensive opportunities provided to grassroots workers within the BJP.
Trivedi emphasized that while the BJP facilitates growth for all its members, the Congress remains under the influence of its 'Jawahar Ke Lal' lineage.
His comments were in response to a social media post by senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who shared a 1996 image of PM Modi alongside senior BJP figure L.K. Advani, commending the BJP and RSS for their organizational framework that enables grassroots workers to ascend to high-ranking positions like Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
The BJP spokesperson, also a Rajya Sabha MP, noted, 'This is a well-known photograph where the respected Advani ji is seated above, while a young Narendra Modi Ji was a grassroots worker at that time, positioned below.'
Trivedi articulated that the image symbolizes the operational ethos of the BJP, showcasing how an individual rooted in the community can ascend to prominence through talent, capability, and organizational backing, ultimately becoming a highly popular leader both in India and globally.
The image shared by the Congress leader captures PM Modi’s early political journey in Gujarat, reportedly taken during the 1996 swearing-in ceremony of former Gujarat chief minister Shankersinh Vaghela, illustrating Advani seated on a chair while Modi, then an organizational head, is seen on the floor nearby.
When asked about the implications of Digvijaya Singh’s social media commentary, Trivedi responded, 'It appears that Digvijaya Singh, with his extensive experience in politics, has recognized the reality, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi epitomizes 'Gudri Ke Lal', and his leadership is unparalleled.'
Trivedi further remarked that the Congress leadership, being 'Jawahar ke Lal', has led the party into an 'upside-down' situation.
'While Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji is a 'Gudri Ke Lal' who has risen from the bottom to the top, he is also elevating the party from the grassroots level upwards.' said Trivedi.
On another social media comment by Digvijaya Singh questioning Rahul Gandhi's capabilities, Trivedi noted, 'Concerns about Rahul Gandhi’s understanding have not only been voiced by Digvijaya Singh but also mentioned by Barack Obama in his book 'The Promised Land', where he describes Rahul Gandhi as a student attempting to impress his teacher through gestures but lacking genuine knowledge and seriousness.'
Trivedi concluded by stating that the Congress party is grappling with a lack of power, which has evolved into desperation and turmoil, indicating signs of a potential implosion within the party.
