New Delhi, Sep 20 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on Saturday to unveil a range of groundbreaking development initiatives across diverse sectors during a prominent event at Jawahar Maidan in Bhavnagar.
During the 'Samudra se Samriddhi' programme, the Prime Minister will officially launch and lay the groundwork for numerous projects valued at over Rs 34,200 crore.
A significant emphasis will be on the maritime industry, with PM Modi inaugurating and initiating projects exceeding Rs 7,870 crore. These efforts encompass vital upgrades to infrastructure at key Indian ports. Noteworthy among these is the inauguration of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock and the foundational stone laying for a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.
Further maritime advancements include a new cargo berth and enhanced container handling facilities at Paradip Port (Odisha), the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat, and modernization projects at Kamarajar Port (Ennore, Tamil Nadu), Chennai Port, Car Nicobar Island, Deendayal Port (Kandla), along with inland waterway facilities in Patna and Varanasi.
The Prime Minister will also showcase an impressive array of projects valued at Rs 26,354 crore specifically in Gujarat, targeting sectors such as renewable energy, port infrastructure, roadways, healthcare, and urban transport.
Significant initiatives based in Gujarat will be inaugurated, including the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, the Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at the Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, and the 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder designated for farmers. The inauguration of the Badeli 45 MW Solar PV Project and the complete solarization of Dhordo village are also on the agenda.
In healthcare and urban infrastructure, the Prime Minister will lay foundation stones for expansions at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Sinh Government Hospital in Jamnagar. Additionally, he will launch the four-laning of 70 kilometers of national highways, enhancing connectivity and trade routes across the state.
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be established between government entities and private sectors, reinforcing public-private partnerships to stimulate regional growth.
The Prime Minister will conduct an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region, envisioned as a greenfield industrial city centered on sustainable industrialization, smart infrastructure, and attracting global investment.
