PM Modi Visits Prayagraj; Engages with Saints and Conducts Rituals at Sangam

Prayagraj, Dec 12 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Prayagraj on Friday to manage the arrangements for the magnificent Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. He was greeted at the airport by Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
After arriving, the Prime Minister headed to Arail Ghat, where he met with saints and conducted a ceremonial puja at the sacred meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.
PM Modi received a warm reception from sadhus and saints before boarding the Nishadraj Cruise to travel from Arail to Sangam. A large crowd gathered to witness the event, with people lining the streets from GT Jawahar Chowk to the pandal on the banks of Sangam. To accommodate the significant number of attendees, access for heavy vehicles was restricted.
Prior to his visit, PM Modi posted on X: "We are devoted to making the Maha Kumbh a divine and grand affair, ensuring every amenity for devotees. Today, after my darshan and puja in Prayagraj, I will assess development projects related to the Maha Kumbh and inaugurate several initiatives."
The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate 167 development projects totaling Rs 5,500 crores, including vital infrastructure projects. This encompasses several corridors such as the Akshayvat Corridor, Hanuman Temple Corridor, Saraswati Koop, Bhardwaj Ashram Corridor, and Shringverpur Dham Corridor.
In addition, restoration and renovation of 29 temples, new bridges, overbridges, and road projects, as well as upgrades to railways, airports, and NHAI projects will also be inaugurated.
To promote a clean and pollution-free Ganga, PM Modi will introduce projects aimed at treating and redirecting small drains flowing into the river, ensuring that untreated water does not contaminate the Ganga. Additional initiatives for drinking water and electricity infrastructure will also be launched.
Furthermore, PM Modi will unveil the Kumbh Sahayak AI Chatbot, created to offer real-time assistance and updates to devotees during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.
On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an inspection of the preparations ahead of the PM’s visit, dedicating four hours to review the proposed locations and discuss plans for the Prime Minister's engagement with Akhara saints.
